EFFECTIVE MAY 1 INDIANS CAN ENTER PHILIPPINES WITHOUT VISA. FEW CONDITIONS SET.


THE 28 YEARS GAP TRULY AFFECTED TRADE AND TOURISM BETWEEN INDIA AND THE PHILIPPINES AND HOPEFULLY OUR RELATIONSHIP WILL NOW SHIFT FROM A SMALL ROAD TO A HIGHWAY. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO STATE THAT THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT HAS ALLOWED “VISA ON ARRIVAL PRIVILEGE” SINCE JANUARY 1, 2011 FOR FILIPINOS WISHING TO TOUR INDIA.

FINALLY, VISA FREE ENTRY FOR INDIAN NATIONALS ENTERING PHILIPPINES BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION ISSUES MEMO CIRCULAR NO. RADJR-12-008 COVERING THE RULES AND GUIDELINES ON VISA-FREE ENTRY OF INDIAN NATIONALS WITH AJACSSUK VISA. Pursuant to DFA Foreign Service Circular No. 36-12 on the Visa Policy for Indian Nationals which supersedes DFA-FSC Nos. 21-10 and 22-10 dated 22 February 2010, WE HEREBY ALLOW SELECTED INDIAN NATIONALS TO VISIT THE PHILIPPINES WITH VISA FREE ENTRY.

SUBJECT: DFA Visa Policy for Indian Nationals

After consultations with the concerned government agencies, the following visa rules and regulations are to be applied
as regards to Indian nationals:

1. They may be granted a visa-free entry for an initial stay not exceeding fourteen (14) days, provided they
possess the following:

a. Either a valid US, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore or UK visa or permanent residence
permit;
b. A national passport valid at least six (6) months, beyond the contemplated stay;
c. Return onward ticket to the next country of destination;
d. No derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration (BI), the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency
(NICA), and the International Police (Interpol).

2. The 14-day visa-free entry may be extended by an additional seven (7) days for a maximum of twenty-one (21)
days stay.
3. This may only be implemented at NAIA I, II and III airports.
4. This type of admission will be non-convertible to other visa categories.
5. For a stay longer than fourteen (14) days, they may appear for a visa at New Delhi PE any Foreign Service Post (FSP) in a country where the applicant has legal residence or any FSP in any country that requires entry visas to Indian nationals.
This FSC shall supersede sections in FSC No’s 21-10 and 22-10 dated 22 February 2010, on Indian nationals.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MEMO: 10 BASIC RULES

1. VISA FREE ENTRY. [No forms, fees or picture required]
2. Initial stamp at Airport is for 14 DAYS.
3. MUST HOLD ANY ONE VALID VISA OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRY: JAPAN, AMERICA, AUSTRALIA, CANADA,
SCHENGEN, SINGAPORE OR UK [BRITISH]. Or simply JAACSSU visa for easy remembrance.
4. Indian Passport with 7 months validity left on the passport. (Rule says: six (6) months, beyond the contemplated stay)
5. Return or onwards ticket to the next country of destination. [NOTE: WILL OPEN TICKET BE ALLOWED?]
6. No derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration (BI), the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency
(NICA), and the International Police (Interpol).
7. Additional 7 days visa may be allowed and must be applied at the Bureau of Immigration. Hence the maximum allowable stay shall not exceed twenty-one (21) days.
8. Entry of Indian nationals will be allowed only at TERMINAL 1, 2, OR 3 IN MANILA ONLY
9. This type of admission will be non-convertible to other visa categories.
10. AN INDIAN NATIONAL MAY STILL APPLY FOR VISA AT PHILIPPINE FOREIGN SERVICE POST [EMBASSIES/CONSULATES, ESPECIALLY IF THE STAY IS LONGER THAN 21 DAYS.
THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER HAS EVERY RIGHT TO EXCLUDE OR REFUSE ENTRY EVEN THOUGH ALL THE RULES ARE COMPLIED WITH. THEY ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHECK HOW MUCH FUNDS, WHOM YOU WANT TO VISIT, WHERE YOU PLAN TO STAY AND OTHER SUCH QUESTIONS TO ANY PASSENGER.
