Vice President Hon. Jejomar Binay represented President Benigno Aquino III at the Asean-India Commemorative Summit in New Delhi of the Asean-India dialog, with the theme "Partnership for Peace and Shared Prosperity."

India hosted this Summit in New Delhi [Dec 20-21, 2012] and marked the 20th anniversary of this relationship and the 10th anniversary of ASEAN-India Summit-level partnership.

Aquino made the announcement during a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during the sidelines of the Leaders' Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Cambodia. "Prime Minister Singh said this event signifies the full fruition of India's integration in Asean," Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma said in an interview.

PM MANMOHAN SINGH also congratulated Aquino on the signing of the Bangsamoro framework agreement with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. VP Binay left of PAL flight 752 on Monday the 17th of November at 6 pm. He returned back on PAL flight 753 arriving in Manila on Saturday the 22nd of December. He was accompanied by some Filipino businessmen including ECOP President Edgardo Lacson, who also represented PCCI.  Under the umbrella of PCCI is PIBC or Philippines-India Business council, represented by its Chair Johnny Chotrani, a Philippines based Indian businessman.
